Letter from a Guru

Sharing a letter from my school teacher and warden at Rajghat school, Varanasi. I was in class 10. The writer, Kiran Khalap, co-founder and Manging Director of Chlorophyll, avid rock-climber and author, based in Mumbai, agreed to this sharing. The letter is equally a work of calligraphy.

What more do you need from a Guru? Kiran sir generously shared his knowledge of chemistry and literature, his thoughts, readings and books, and sometimes his beloved bicycle too:) And, above all, encouraged all those inclined – to read widely and write.

I did get to read “Mister God, This is Anna” and “Gazelle Boy” and shared these with friends. Many many years later, I received a special gift from Kiran sir – the complete set of Calvin and Hobbes:)

I had a couple of other inland letters from him, but seem to have kept them so well that I am unable to find those. Maybe, some other day.
